On one hand this is a very nice whisky with no real flaws, on the other hand I would have expected a bit more from a whisky of that age. The palate feels a bit unbalanced. – Rating: 83/100

A very well-balanced fruity dram with no disturbing notes. It does not take much water, though. – Rating: 86/100

The fruity Glenlivet style is well present, but there is quite a pronounced dryness caused by the long maturation. – Rating: 81/100

Jura 1976/2012 Berry Bros.

December 17, 2012

This is a most unusual whisky and it’s truly kaleidoscopic. There are so many flavours that seem to be shifting constantly that a little of it goes a long way. – Rating: 89/100

Littlemill 1992/2012 Berry Bros.

November 25, 2012

The floral character and the light gin reminiscence are a bit unusual, but it is all well-balanced and very enjoyable. – Rating: 85/100

North of Scotland 1973/2012 Berry Bros.

November 24, 2012

This has a wonderful trademark aged grain nose, but on the palate the wood takes the lead a little too much. – Rating: 83/100

Springbank 1992/2011 Berry Bros.

March 30, 2012

Pretty much a quintessential Springbank with a very nice freshness. Even though it is not cask strength the flavours are densely packed yet delicate. – Rating: 89/100

Miltonduff 1998/2011 Berry Bros.

March 30, 2012

Nothing special to say about this malt, all very much middle of the road. I can’t help thinking that it would have benefited from a few years more in the cask. – Rating: 75/100

Caol Ila 1983/2011 Berry Bros.

March 29, 2012

A nice sweetness adds to the peat and fruit here making this a Caol Ila with an interesting twist.- Rating: 86/100

Bunnahabhain 1979/2011 Berry Bros. for whisky.com.tw

February 28, 2012

A very pleasant combination of sweet fruit and dry wood with just a hint of the signature Bunnahabhain freshness. – Rating: 89/100

Glenburgie 1983/2011 Berry Bros.

February 24, 2012

With its thick and almost oily mouthfeel this malt is tongue-coatingly delicious. A slight woody dryness is the perfect counter balance. – Rating: 88/100

Ledaig 2005/2010 Berry Bros.

August 31, 2011

Fast maturation does not only happen in tropical climates. With the right cask even a Scotch can become a cracker of a dram in only four years. This whisky is a peaty flavour bomb. – Rating: 88/100

Springbank 1992/2011 Berry Bros.

August 4, 2011

The age does not show at all here. In one way it is a rather typical – or should I say generic? – Springbank, but I can’t help the feeling there is something missing here. – Rating: 82/100
