This malt is very light in character and quite different from the Machir Bay. A good dram but it takes some effort to taste the flavours beyond the comparatively mild peat – Rating: 83/100

This 3 year old malt has a great nose that is not unlilke one the gentler Islay drams. The palate is nice as well but lacks some of the complexity I found in the Chapter 4. And it’s also a tad edgier. – Rating: 79/100

The worst dram I ever had so far, mainly for the moldy mushroom flavour. Very immature and unbalanced. The brewery makes excellent beer. They should stick with that in order not to ruin their reputation. The price of €50 per bottle is ridiculuos. Avoid. – Score: 20/100

Slyrs 2005/2008

This whisky was aged three years in fresh American oak barrels. It’s a bit of a crossing between a single malt and a bourbon. Not bad for a 3yo, but you have to like the wood influence. – Score: 68/100
