Maybe the smokiest Karuizawa I have tasted so far, wonderfully stripped down to basics by the bourbon cask. Just the finish is a bit short. – Rating: 88/100

My oh my, a powerful dram that does not hold back its flavours. Expect no subtleties. This may be the oldest peat monster ever, dealing you a phenol punch as well as a wood bite. – Rating: 89/100

Despite its age this is a very mild and gentle dram with subtle aromas. It needs quite a while to devlop in the glass but then it becomes very enjoyable – Rating: 85/100

This malt has a rather light character but is also bit oily or waxy at the same time. Quite complex with many flavour notes from the wood but balanced out by a nice fruitiness. – Rating: 84/100

A marvelous dram rich of flavours and full of complexity. Fruitiness and spicyness are perfectly balanced, the flavours are interwoven very tightly so it is hard to pick anything that stands out. – Rating: 92/100 – Price Tag $$$$$
