A nice whisky for those who like subtle drams. The character is a bit middle-of-the-road but quite pleasant nontheless. – Rating: 84/100

It is very difficult to pick out specific aromas on the palate. The whisky has a waxy and foll-bodied character but the rather odd flavours are probably not to everyone’s liking. – Rating: 79/100

The first event I booked for the Spirit of Speyside Festival was a tour of Speyside Cooperage. It is located right outside Craigellachie, just a stone’s throw away from the distillery.

After my journey to Islay in May 2010 I thought it would be only consequent to also visit the other whisky focal point in Scotland, Speyside. The Spring Festival 2010 is taking place from 28th April to 2nd May.
