Notable Facts: Cardhu plays a major role in the Johnnie Walker blends but is also rather popular as single malt, especially in Spain.
In 2003, a blended malt called Cardhu was sold as “Pure Malt” This caused a lot of uproar and the bottling was taken from the market. Further use of the term Pure Malt is now prohibited by the SWA regulations.
