There is an unusual amount of spices in this sherried malt, the fruit is almost in the background. It is quite dry but still pleasant on the palate. – Rating: 85/100

Not really too strawberry-y, but the “ganache” descriptor is quite fitting. Expect some tannins. – Rating: 85/100

Glen Scotia 33 yo 1977 Prestonfield

May 18, 2012

An old-style malt with a nice combination of flavours, maybe just a little too sweet. – Rating: 85/100

Glen Scotia 1972/2010 Malts of Scotland

December 6, 2011

A very fine dram, old and richly flavoured. The price tag is quite steep, though – Rating: 86/100

Glen Scotia 1974/2005 Signatory

September 9, 2010

The marvelous nose makes lots of promises but there is a subliminal soapiness on the palate that destroys all hopes of getting to enjoy a fine aged Campbeltown malt. – Rating: 72/100
