The old age does not really show here although there is some noticeable wood. A lively and very enjoyable whisky from a distillery normally associated with mediocre malts. – Rating: 85/100
After a short while, the nose is rather pleasant. The palate is not quite as interesting, though. One of the better farmyard drams of Loch Lomond. – Rating: 72/100
One of the many brands of Loch Lomond distillery. This malt is quite sippable but does not possess the qualities to stick out of the crowd . – Rating: 74/100
This is very dark for a bourbon cask and could even be mistaken for a sherried whisky. Very complex but certainly not everybody’s darling. – Score: 75/100
Remarkably smooth and yet very complex for a 4 yo. The unusual taste takes a while getting used to but is not unpleasant. Interestingly strange. – Score: 82/100
For a long time this was the cheapest 21 yo on the market, now replaced by an 18 yo. In comparison to the standard bottling, this is a drinkable whisky, but that’s about all you can say about it. – Score: 72/100
