Educating people about whisky is a good thing, and many writers try to do so. But are all of them knowledgeable enough to take on this task?

I live in a country that has a reputation for being over-regulated. Germany is widely regarded as a paradise for bureaucrats, and rightly so. But there is one area where British legislators are putting their German colleagues to shame.

The new Malt Maniacs Whisky Monitor Database was just presented to the public. It replaces the old Malt Monitor PDF file and boasts an exciting new feature.

Google has a somewhat hidden feature that allows you to draw lots of information from the search statistics dating back until 2004. It is called Google Insights for Search and it’s currently in beta stadium.

Yesterday night I received an email asking if I would be interested to join the Malt Maniacs. A question in fact that was not too difficult to answer. Of course I said Yes, and so I am now an official Malt Maniac.

Every now and then real life takes its toll and I have to skip a day or two in posting on this blog. Now I thought it would be a nice idea to be able to fill at least some of these gaps with posts from guest bloggers.
