Casks 2750 & 2760 – 40%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Pineapple, orange, banana, remote hints of a herbal liqueur, bees wax, polished wood.
Palate: Pineapple and orange again, hints of malva tea, mace and ginger, slightly astringent overall.
Finish: Long, dry and fruity.
Overall: The nose is simply wonderful, but on the palate the wood dominates just a bit too much, also the 40% ABV results in rather watery mouthfeel. Truly great old whiskies can shine nonetheless, but this feels just too watered down.
