Mortlach 15 yo Gordon & MacPhail

by Oliver Klimek on December 2, 2015

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark gold
Nose: Raisins, dried apricots, polished wood, hints of fruit cake, ginger and cardamom.
Palate: Raisns in marsala wine, sweet melon, hints of the trademark Mortlach oxtail soup, caramel fudge, hints of cardamom and pepper.
Finish: Long, fruity and slighty spicy with a meaty hint.
Overall: This long time semi-official bottling of Mortlach has the typical meatiness that has gone lost a bit in the new Diageo series. It’s not the most complex of drams but a very solid benchmark for this distillery

Rating: 86/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
