Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark gold
Nose: Fresh apples, banana, vanilla, hints of butterscotch and polished wood.
Palate: Stewed apples, hints of banana, vanilla, porridge, nutmeg, hints of pepper.
Finish: Rather short, fruity and slighty spicy.
Overall: The nose is actually quite nice but the palate is a disappointment. While the generic flavours of this whisky will not offend anyone, its lack of maturity makes it difficult to like.

Rating: 69/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Hi there,

“While the generic flavours of this whisky will not offend anyone, its lack of maturity makes it difficult to like.”

It was never spoken out but there have been hints and even more rumours that it is a 5yo whisky.
I know it is hard to say how old a vatting of a whisky really migth be – lacking data about what really makes the vatting is one of the major problems I have with NAS bottlings – but would you stick your neck out to make a guess about the actual age?

Greetings
