Octomore 7.3 Islay Barley 5 yo

by Oliver Klimek on October 19, 2015

169 ppm – 63%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Medium gold
Nose: Medicinal peat, banana, pineapple, vanilla, ginger and pepper.
Palate: Strong peat, banana, hints of mango, cream of coconut, vanilla, candied ginger and black pepper.
Finish: Very long, fruity and smoky.
Overall: The very high peating level is obvious on nose on palate but there is also the nice fruitiness that is typical for Bruichladdich. You can taste its youth but it works well.

Rating: 86/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

The peat in this one was a bit overwhelming for me, but I can see its appeal.
