Ardbeg Supernova 2015

by Oliver Klimek on September 14, 2015

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark straw
Nose: Peat smoke, liquorice, pineapple, vanilla, ginger and nutmeg.
Palate: Strong peat, pineapple, banana, lime,  vanilla, hints of candied ginger, allspice and nutmeg.
Finish: Very long, fruity and smoky.
Overall: Surprisingly fruity and civilised despite the 100 ppm phenol level of the malted barley. This does not feel like a peat monster at all, the fruitiness almost makes you forget the peat.

Rating: 87/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

there have been a lot of review samples on this blog lately – weren’t you going to steer clear of that practice, oliver?

I never said I wouldn’t accept review samples. But it has always been my declared policy to never ask for samples. Maybe you understood that wrong.
