Elements of Islay Lp6

by Oliver Klimek on August 5, 2015

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Medium gold
Nose: Very Laphroaig, medicinal smoke, vanilla, honey, hints of banana, cloves, black pepper.
Palate: Strong peat, vanilla, banana, hints of pineapple, light syrup, cloves, allspice and pepper.
Finish: Long, fruity and smoky.
Overall: This is a bit fruitier then the official Cask Strength bottling but it still focuses on the strong medicinal distillery character. The website says “moreish”, and I agree.

Rating: 87/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Sounds interesting, although the price tag is pretty steep! Do you think it’s worth the premium over the Laphroaig 10 CS?

I think it is a tad better than the 10 yo CS, but I am not sure of is worth the additional money.
