Bowmore 1995/2014 Wemyss “The Rockpool”

by Oliver Klimek on May 6, 2015

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Medium amber
Nose: Ashy smoke, honey, pineapple, vanilla, cloves, strong black pepper.
Palate: Quite strong peat for Bowmore, thick honey, banana, pineapple, candied ginger, cloves, nutmeg and pepper.
Finish: Very long, fruity and smoky.
Overall: One of the best non-classic Bowmores I have tasted. It is very rich and thick and benefits from a bit of water.

Rating: 89/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

This bottle is apparently already sold out.

I loved this one too. It reminded me of old fashioned Bowmores from long, long ago.

Shame it’s already gone but I doubt I would have bought a bottle at at least € 150

Indeed. I refuse to adjust my “Value for Money” rating to whsky hyperinflation 😉
