Coillmor 4 yo American Oak

by Oliver Klimek on May 5, 2015

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Medium amber
Nose: Eucalyptus, vanilla, hints of celeriac, cloves and white pepper.
Palate: Vanilla, eucalyptus, hints of toffee, allspice and nutmeg.
Finish: Medium long, slightly fruity and slightly spicy.
Overall: This is one of the typical young German whiskies that strongly rely on wood extraction from fresh casks while the spirit is secondary.

Rating: 70/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

German whiskies are a group that I’m honestly not too familiar with. Any suggestions for a good place to start? I’ve heard pretty good things about Slyrs…

Slyrs is fairly good, and some of the shery finishes can even compete with Scotch, but overall I am not a huge fan of German whisky. It’s definitely worth trying, though.
