My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Caramel, hints of mint, cinnamon, wood polish, nutmeg.
Palate: Very caramelly with a touch of mint, only very mid spices.
Finish: Medium long, slightly spicy.
Overall: I was surprised how gentle this is for a rye, too gentle for my taste, in fact.

Agreed on it being too gentle. I don’t think I’d recognize it as one if tasted blind… Bummer, since I love Knob Creek.
When I first tried Knob Creek Rye, at first sip I remember thinking, “hey, this is bourbon not rye. But the rye spice and black pepper is there from mid thru finish. I don’t find it all that mild, just unusual in that front end, bourbon-like flavor profile. It’s that transition that I find enjoyable and why this is my choice for rye under $45.
