Bowmore 1996/2014 Wemyss “Aniseed Pastille”

by Oliver Klimek on November 6, 2014

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark straw
Nose: The typical Bowmore fruity peat smoke with pineapple, papaya, banana, vanilla as well as crushed black pepper.
Palate: Medium strong peat, much less fruit than on the nose but indeed a hint of aniseed, cloves, hints of camphor and pepper.
Finish: Long, dry and smoky.
Overall: This very delicate dram has the unusual property of being more fragrant on the palate than on the nose. Another excellent yet pricey middle-aged Bowmore. There has been some great whisky coming out the distillery lately.

Rating: 87/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
