Mortlach Rare Old

by Oliver Klimek on October 9, 2014

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Bright amber
Nose: Sultanas, dried figs, orange zest, hints of vanilla, only faint spice notes.
Palate: Almost the same as the nose, rather light in character but the meaty notes Mortlach is famous for can be found with a little effort.
Finish: Medium long, fruity and minmally spicy.
Overall: Indeed this is an entry level whisky. In a way it shows everything one might expect of a Mortlach but it does so in a rather shy manner.

Rating: 83/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
