My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Medium gold
Nose: Light wood smoke, tinned tangerines, hints of banana, lemon zest, vanilla, candied ginger and hints of pepper.
Palate: Mild peat, tropical fruit cocktail with custard, hints of honey, ginger, hints of nutmeg and pepper.
Finish: Medium long, fruity and slightly smoky.
Overall: A young entry level malt in the trademark fruity and mildly peated Bowmore style, it makes for a pleasant sipping but does not provide the complexity found in the older expressions.
Rating: 83/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
Bowmore included a 60% cocoa chocolate bar made by Montezuma that is made with “a drop” of this whisky. The whisky is barely detectable, but the quality of the chocolate is outstanding. It is a very good match with the whisky and brings out a slightly salty note and intensifies the fruity aromas.
