Buchanan’s 12 yo from 1960s/70s Italian Import

by Oliver Klimek on November 5, 2013

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark gold
Nose: Raisins, dried banana, hints of vinegar, a whiff of dusty attic, grapefruit and minimal smoke.
Palate: Sweet raisins, honey, butterscotch, hints of mature cheese, candied oranges, hints of ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Finish: Long, sweet, fruity and minimally smoky.
Overall: There is a lot to discover in this old blend, the complexity is amazing. It would even scratch the 90 point mark if the sweetness was a tad less prominent.

Rating: 88/100 – No price information as this is a collector’s bottle
