Quarter casks with sherry cask finish – 48%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Freshly cut pine wood, vanilla, banana peel, burnt sugar, hints of camphor, eucalyptus and nutmeg.
Palate: Caramel, strong vanilla, fruity breakfast cereals, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Finish: Rather short, fruity and spicy.
Overall: The wood has done a good job in this new Danish whisky. The young age is well hidden and the flavours are intriguing. Thumbs up for quality, thumbs down for the prohibitive price of €200 for 50 cl.
