Hakushu Sherry Cask

by Oliver Klimek on June 30, 2013

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark copper
Nose: Sweet cherries, prunes, toasted nuts, hints of dark chocolate and polished oak, allspice and hints of cinnamon.
Palate: Christmas pudding with brandy butter, orange zest, dark chocolate, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg.
Finish: Long and fruity with dry spices.
Overall: This is a rather typical sherry bomb, hard to tell that it is from Japan. The nose beats the palate, but it is a high quality whisky overall.

Rating: 85/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2012 where it won a silver medal, re-tasted for notes
