Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 5

by Oliver Klimek on May 30, 2013

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Prunes, raisins, toffee, polished wood, hints of soy sauce and nutmeg.
Palate: Sweet raisins, dried figs, baba au rhum, caramel, toasted nuts, mixed gentle oriental spices.
Finish: Rather long, fruity and slightly spicy.
Overall: A very enjoyable whisky with many interesting flavours to explore, one the finish could be a bit longer.

Rating: 85/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2012 where it received a silver medal, re-tasted for notes
