Longrow Red 11 yo

by Oliver Klimek on May 7, 2013

7 year refill bourbon, 4 years Cabernet Sauvignon – 52.1%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Pale copper
Nose: Bacon, cough syrup, cold smoke, cereals,  a hint of wine and pepper.
Palate: Sweet peat, strawberry jam, hints of smoked ham, vanilla, cloves and white pepper.
Finish: Long, fruity and smoky.
Overall: The wine influence is bold, and you can see it in the colour. But it works surprisingly well.

Rating: 86/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2012 where it won a silver medal, re-tasted for notes
