Book of Kells Series – Sherry butt 2604 – 47.9%
My Tasting Notes:
Nose: Very intense old sherry, dried fruit, berries, leather, sandal wood, hints of mixed dried herbs, cinnamon.
Palate: Prunes, dried figs, coffee and tea, hints of balsamic vinegar, wood tannins, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Finish: Medium long, dry and fruity.
Overall: After the massive nose, the palate feels rather shy and lacking the complexity you would expect from a whisky of this age. Still a very fine dram but not outstanding.
Rating: 87/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
