Glendronach 40 yo 1972/2012 Cask 713

by Oliver Klimek on April 25, 2013

For LMDW – Oloroso sherry butt – 50.2%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark copper
Nose: Cassis, dried figs and apricots, dark chocolate, leather, cinnamon, hints of nutmeg and soy sauce.
Palate: Prunes, cassis, orange marmalade, tobaccy, dark chocolate, strong tea, hints ofcardamom and nutmeg.
Finish: Very long, dry and fruity.
Overall: A divine combination of sherry flavours is somewhat compromised by a very dry and tannic mouthfeel. It was high time this was bottled.

Rating: 90/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2012 where it won a gold medal, re-tasted for notes
