Bourbon hogshead 9814 – 52.2%
My Tasting Notes:
Nose: Coal smoke, hints of tar and diesel, vanilla, lemon, liquorice and pepper.
Palate: Dry peat, liquorice, cough syrup, lemon zest, strong green tea, ginger, black pepper.
Finish: Very long, dry and smoky.
Overall: More medicinal and “dirty” than your usual Caol Ila, this is an excellent and complex peaty powerhouse.
Rating: 87/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
