Bushmills 16 yo

by Oliver Klimek on April 15, 2013

Oloroso sherry & bourbon, port finish – 40%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Very dark amber
Nose: Tinned peaches, orange marmalade, butterscotch, polished wood, hints of cinnamon and coriander.
Palate: Peaches, cherries, orange zest, fudge, cinnamon, hints of pepper.
Finish: Very long, fruity and slightly spicy.
Overall: Not quite as massive as the 21 yo, but very much along the same line despite the cask hodge-podge. The standard 40% remark applies as well.

Rating: 86/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Buy Bushmills 16 yo at Master of Malt

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2012 where it won a silver medal, re-tasted for notes

Note: I already tasted the previous version back in 2010 which I did not like quite as much.
