Cask 6850 – 53.5%
My Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rum-soaked prunes, dates, dark chocolate, toffee, cinnamon, hints of rubber.
Palate: Prunes, figs, dates, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon and pepper, hints of sulphur.
Finish: Long, fruity and spicy.
Overall: I am not sure if it is just the sulphur, but somehow I don’t find this heavily sherried dram very compelling. It lacks a certain “roundness” I expect from a really good whisky.
