Glengoyne Teapot Dram

by Oliver Klimek on April 9, 2013

First fill sherry – Distillery only – 58%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark copper
Nose: Prunes, amarena cherries, orange zest, dark chocolate, hints of tobacco, cinnamon, hints of cardamom.
Palate: Prunes, Christmas pudding, orange zest, dark chocolate, cinnamon, hints of pepper.
Finish: Long, fruity and slightly spicy.
Overall: This is Glengoyne’s answer to Aberlour A’bunadh, and it is a good one. There still is a youthful edge to it but the first fill sherry aromas are wonderful.

Rating: 88/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2012 where it won a silver medal, re-tasted for notes
