Bourbon cask 8597 – 62.1%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright copper
Nose: Burnt down wood fire, hints of smoked ham, vanilla, cloves and nutmeg, just hints of fruit, slightly fragrant.
Palate: Mild peat, that smoked ham again, mixed tropical fruit (not too much though), toffee, nutmeg and pepper.
Finish: Medium long, smoky and slightly fruity.
Overall: Maybe the smokiest Karuizawa I have tasted so far, wonderfully stripped down to basics by the bourbon cask. Just the finish is a bit short.
Rating: 88/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
