Sherry butt – 49.5%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark copper
Nose: Burnt sugar, polished wood, dark toffee, dried apricots, dates, old leather, cinnamon, hints of nutmeg.
Palate: Strong dried apricots, dates and raisins, fudge, cocoa, strong espresso, a strong helping of mixed gingerbread spices.
Finish: Long, fruity and very dry.
Overall: A sherried grain whisky is always something special. This one has very strong wood notes, but in combination with the strong grain profile it works remarkably well.
