Blend of 2 yo and 16 yo straight ryes – 46%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Vanilla, spearmint, allspice, nutmeg, just hints of dried fruit and caramel.
Palate: Vanilla, caramel, mint, huge mixed spices and herbs. you name it, it’s in there.
Finish: Very long, spicy and sweet.
Overall: This is a massively spiced rye, and a very complex one as well. Blending 2 and 16 year old whiskies proves to be a brilliant idea here.
Rating: 90/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

One of the best remaining deals in American whisky. I have a case of this squirreled away. I also recommend that you get your hands on a Willett Single Barrel Rye (usually 4yo or 5yo). Different distillery and profile, but another rye high point at a great price (in the US, that is).
This will get a solid place in the Bang-for-the-buck list when I get around to update it.
