Balcones Brimstone

by Oliver Klimek on January 27, 2013

Smoked Texas whiskey – Batch 12.3 – 53%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Wood smoke, unlit cigars, eucalyptus, hints of mint, vanilla, cinnamon, vaguely fruity.
Palate: The burnt end of a Texas brisket with honey glazing, some apple wood thrown in.
Finish: Long, sweet and smoky.
Overall: This whisky just shouts “Barbecue” at you. Its marvelous nose and unique smoky palate take you right along to Hill Country where the brisket is slowly smoking in the pit.

Rating: 88/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
