Sherry butt 1 – 41.2%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark amber
Nose: This can only be described as a blast of all kinds of mixed fruit in a bowl on a well-polished old oak table.
Palate: Pineapple, raisins, mango, orange, fudge, hints of tea, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Finish: Long, fruity and slightly dry.
Overall: Not your typical oloroso cask here… The nose is superb, but the ABV has come down to a level that gives it a sightly watery mouthfeel. Surprisingly litte wood influence.
Rating: 87/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2012 where it won a silver medal, re-tasted for notes.
