Hogshead 640 – 46%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark straw
Nose: Porridge, lemon, rancid butter, vanilla, a little sharp.
Palate: Porridge with old butter, vanilla, lemon zest, strong pepper and an overall bitterness.
Finish: Long, spicy and rather bitter.
Overall: The tasting notes may read worse than the dram actually is, but the butyric and bitter aromas are not particularly pleasant.
Rating: 74/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2012, re-tasted for notes.
