Sherry butt 3692 – 61.6%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Copper
Nose: Prunes in vinegar, dark chocolate, leather, sandal wood, allspice, slightly herbal.
Palate: Prunes, dates, balsamic vinegar, herbal bitter, tobacoo, strong tea, allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg, minimal smoke.
Finish: Long, fruity, dry and spicy.
Overall: ‘Elixir’ would probably best describe this thick concoction. There is a great richness of ‘dark’ flavours, the vinegar notes are a bit too strong for a 90 rating.
Rating: 88/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2012 where it won a gold medal, re-tasted for notes.
