Sherry hogshead 6112 – 49.1%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright copper
Nose: Prunes in armagnac, tobacco, old leather, dark chocolate, a whiff of attic dust and pepper.
Palate: Prunes, dried figs, dark chocolate, black tea, nutmeg and a good dose of pepper.
Finish: Medium long, dry and fruity, quite spicy.
Overall: The wood has begun to take over here, but it still is a very fine dram. The finish is a bit on the short side, though.
Rating: 88/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2012 where it won a bronze medal, re-tasted for notes.
