Glenglassaugh Evolution

by Oliver Klimek on December 30, 2012

Matured in George Dickel Tennesee Whisky barrels – 57.2%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Straw
Nose: Pears, vanilla, hints of honey, lemon zest, sherbet powder, liquorice, a whiff of wood polish.
Palate: Pears and lemons, corn flakes and rice crispies, vanilla and liquorice, nutmeg and pepper.
Finish: Medium long and slightly spicy.
Overall: Still quite a young whisky but not too newmakey, the nose is very pleasant and the fruity creaminess on the palate makes it a nice uncomplicated sipping dram.

Rating: 81/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Note: A big thumbs-up to Glenglassaugh for stating the source of their ‘bourbon’ barrels!
