My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright amber
Nose: Pipe tobacco, ripe apples, vanilla, old leather, polished oak, nutmeg.
Palate: Spicy apple compote, vanilla, hints of grapefruit, lapsang souchong tea, nutmeg, hints of cinnamon.
Finish: Very long, fruity, spicy and minimally smoky.
Overall: A fascinating mix of spice and fruit in this slightly unusual bourbon cask Karuizawa, the wood is always present but does not overwhelm the other flavours.
