Single Pot Still – 46%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark gold
Nose: Burnt sugar, lemon zest, vanilla, freshly cut oak, mixed fruity sweets, white pepper.
Palate: Creme brulee, lemon zest, grapefruit, vanilla, hints of savoury herbs, green tea and pepper.
Finish: Long, dry and spicy.
Overall: Less fruity than I expected from a pot still whiskey, it is rather delicate and light bodied but shows quite a bit of wood spice and driness. A very enjoyable Irish alternative.
