My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark straw
Nose: Vanilla, caramelized orange zest (if such a thing exists), hints of nutmeg and that special briniess Springbank is famous for.
Palate: Orange zest, vanilla, butterscotch, green tea, nutmeg, liquorice, hints of pepper, slightly bitter.
Finish: Long, fruity and spicy.
Overall: The Springbank connection is undeniable here, and there is a lot to find in this malt. But this edition has a slight bitterness to it that puts it a notch below last year’s release.
