You may know by now that I am not afraid of using whisky in cocktails. I have to admit though, that I prefer the classics like the Manhattan or the Old Fashioned over snazzy new creations.
Here are some rather strange concoctions I have come across recently. To be honest I have not tried any of them, some of them may actually taste good. But all of them have a twist to them that makes me wonder.
An adulteration of a classic by skipping the bitters. Definitely drinkable, but should better be called Staten Island.
Johnnie Walker, Jack Daniel’s and Jim Beam combined. All about the concept, taste is irrelevant.
Is this supposed to taste like one? Dr. Pepper makes it possbible.
4 parts whisky, 1 part vodka. Why bother?
Whisky, honey, cream and more stirred over ice. Good luck to get it smooth. Never heard of a shaker?
A whiskey sour ‘enhanced’ by Pernod. Yikes.
