A miniature from the late 1970s – 43%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright amber
Nose: Poached pears, apples, honey, opening a dusty old kitchen cabinet, hints of nutmeg and dried herbs.
Palate: Mildly fruity (difficult to be specific) with just a sprinkle of cane sugar, sligthly tannic, a hint of Earl Grey and peppermint tea as well as nutmeg and a little pepper.
Finish: Long, dry, slightly spicy and herbal.
Overall: Very dense flavours here that are difficult to dissect. This is rather different from today’s 12 yo, much drier and a little less fruity. Very good stuff.
Rating: 86/100 - No price information as this is a collector’s bottle
