Invergordon 18 yo 1993/2011 SMWS G5.3

“Extraordinary Taste Intensity” – 65.6%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Caramelized apricots, orange zest, overripe sweet melon, tinned tangerines, wood polish, vanilla, cinnamon.
Palate: Initial sweet punch on the palate, then butterscotch, apricot tarte tatin, orange, cinnamon and a tiny hint of mint.
Finish: Very long, sweet and fruity.
Overall: For a change the SMWS tag line is not bursting of creativity, but it is spot on. The palate feels like an amplified version of the nose, the quality is unusually high for a grain whisky of this medium age.

Rating: 90/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
