My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Medium amber
Nose: Butterscotch, custard, honey, apricot, cinnamon, hints of peanuts.
Palate: Very much in line with the nose, rounded by gingerbread spices and a little pepper.
Finish: Long, sweet and slightly fruity with a creamy mouthfeel.
Overall: This lovely old-time whisky tastes suprisingly unsurprising. One might expect unusual flavours in such an old dram, but in fact it tastes just like an aged grain whisky. Of course it is impossible to tell how much the taste has changed after 100 years.
Rating: 89/100 – no price information as this bottle is priceless
