For La Maison du Whisky – Sherry butt 3207 – 61.7%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright copper
Nose: Dried figs, raisins, orange marmalade, toffee, tobacco, waxed leather, hints of old oak.
Palate: Raisins, dried figs, cassis, orange zest, toffee, a handful of mild but slightly tannic spices.
Finish: Long, fruity and slightly dry and spicy.
Overall: Despite the very rich flavours, this malt has a delightful lightness often found in Linkwood. Be careful with water. Sublime.
Rating: 89/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
Tasted blind for the Malt Manics Awards 2011, re-tasted for notes.
