For Flickenschild – Sauternes finish – 46%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright amber
Nose: Apples, malt, vanilla, hints of raisins, slightly vegetal.
Palate: Raisins, green apples, vanilla, malt, grassy hints, a little liqurorice, hints of soy sauce.
Finish: Rather long, fruity and slightly sweet.
Overall: Some quite unusual flavours in this malt that was probably from a weak cask and saved by the finish. I like it, but it is a rather special dram.
Rating: 85/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
Tasted blind for the Malt Manics Awards 2011, re-tasted for notes.
