My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Copper
Nose: Raisins, dates, prunes, marzipan, old oak, cocoa, hints of cinnamon and waxed leather.
Palate: Raisins, orange zest, dates wrapped in bacon, espresso, dark chocolate, demerera sugar, hints of cinnamon and pepper.
Finish: Very long, fruity and slightly smoky.
Overall: The light smokiness on the palate makes this a perfect old-fashioned high end Scotch. You need to take your time to enjoy its many flavours.
Rating: 89/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
Tasted blind for the Malt Manics Awards 2011, re-tasted for notes.
